The founder of Den Ouden Tanktransport is Jan den Ouden (born in 1953). After a career as driver, planner and manager Jan den Ouden founded his own company in 1991. He started as an own driver with 1 articulated lorry for a regular client.

The company had an autonomous growth of 1 articulated lorry per year. The number of clients also increased steadily.

In 1999 there was a major development. The current premises at the Edisonweg in Alblasserdam were purchased. A Tankcleaning was also realised at this location.

In the following years an adjoining site with accompanying premises were purchased.
There a new and larger office was built, among other things.
An own workshop and a larger parking site also created more opportunities for the company.

In the meantime the next generation of Den Ouden is working at the company:
Arie was employed in 1997 as a driver and now manages the workshop.
Jan Peter was employed in 1999, first in the cleaning, and now at the planning department.
Gerard moved to the planning department in 2007 after having been a driver before for a few years.
